Mets have won 4 straight and take the series against the Dodgers, they go for the sweep tomorrow night! They are now 2.5 games out of 1st and end the month of June with a 15-13 record, another winning month!

Johan Santana was great. He pitched 8 scoreless innings and had a one-hitter going into the 8th until giving up 2 more hits in the 8th. He threw 107 pitches and although he only struck out 3, he held the Dodgers to zero runs and 3 hits. Santana earned his 6th win of the season!

Ike Davis and Daniel Murphy both continued to break out of their slumps. Ike Davis had a 2-hit game and hit a 3-run blast in the 6th inning to put the Mets up 5-0. Daniel Murphy contributed with 2 hits of his own, a run scored and an RBI!

Kirk Nieuwenhuis also went 2-for-4.

Bobby Parnell came in the 9th and pitched cleanly to secure a win for Santana and the Mets.

Johan Santana had a rough day but the Mets offense thankfully bailed him out a few times so he can earn his 4th win of the season!

It was another game where everyone was hitting. Kirk Nieuwenhuis had one of the best games so far in his career with 2 homeruns, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI! David Wright had a great game as well with 3 hits, 3 runs scored and a walk. Lucas Duda drove in 3 RBI with a sac-fly and a double. Ike Davis had another multi-hit game, he had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs! Jason Bay also had himself a hit, a solo homerun in the 2nd inning!

The bullpen was great. Jon Rauch came in the 6th inning with no outs and stranded everyone on base after Johan Santana loaded the bases.

Mets win their 2nd in a row against Tampa to take the series!!!

R.A. Dickey was absolutely brilliant. He pitched a complete game one-hitter, he tied and then took over Jerry Koosman’s franchise record for longest scoreless streak! Dickey struck out a career-high 12 and only gave up a infield “hit” to B.J. Upton in the 1st (which would’ve been an easy out if David Wright picked up the ball like he should’ve). Congrats Dickey!!!

From many eyes, the hit in the 1st was an error on Wright but was instead ruled a hit. However, Mets never argued the call. Well if that’s the case, let’s just say that Dickey truly threw the 2nd no-hitter in Mets history, the same month as Johan Santana.

Everyone in tonight’s starting lineup got a hit; some early, some late.

The Mets sweep the Phillies! It was a back and forth game for 7 innings between the Mets and the Phillies, where both teams just wouldn’t give up. The Phillies had a lead three different times and lost every single lead. The Mets tied the game three times and finally took their first lead of the game in the 7th inning, and they held the lead for good.

Everyone contributed to the Mets’ offense with either a hit, a RBI sac-fly or scored on a walk. Ike Davis really got what he was looking for when he went 2-for-4 and hit a 3-run blast in the 8th to put the Mets up 9-4.

The Mets take 2 out of 3 against the Diamondbacks with a 3-1 win on Sunday!

R.A. Dickey was great through 8 and even went for the complete game shutout which ended in the 9th when he couldn’t get it done. However, Dickey still gets the well deserved win, his 4th of the season!

Ruben Tejada did the most hitting. However, after a bunt single in the 4th, he tripped and fell flat on his face while running to first base. He was removed from the game and was later diagnosed with a right quad strain while Justin Turner took his spot as shortstop for the remainder of the game. No word yet on how long he’ll be out.

Daniel Murphy contributed the most to the scoring when singled in the 1st to drive in David Wright and Andres Torres

Josh Thole did the rest of the scoring when he singled in the 4th, driving in Ike Davis to put the Mets ahead 3-0.

After two impressive starts, Johan Santana started tonight’s game and wasn’t nearly as impressive. He threw over 50 pitches (55 total) in less than 2 innings and gave up 4 hits and 6 runs in the shortest outing of his career. It’s all a work in progress for Santana in his comeback season after his 2010 shoulder surgery.

In his first game back from a fractured pinky injury, David Wright hits a first pitch homerun to straight away center, and went 3-5 today. 

Jon Niese continued his great pitching performance today: 6.2 innings 5 hits 5 Strikeouts 1 Walk and not allwoing a single run. He wins his 2nd game of the year.  

Lucas Duda launches a 2 run bomb to right field for his third home run of the year.
